Is Not Null
Route true when the variable has a value (not missing or null).

Value
Scope
Any
Is Not Null checks one context variable and continues on true when the value is neither missing nor null. Empty text still counts as a value and takes true. Missing and null take false.
Use Is Null for the inverse. Use Is Not Empty when empty text, lists, or objects should take false.
Configure
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Variable | Context path to test (args.*, pipe.*, named variables, and so on) |
If Variable is not set, the run takes the false path.
Handles
| Handle | Role |
|---|---|
| In (target) | Incoming connection |
| Out (source) | Continues when the value is present (not missing or null) |
| False | Continues when the value is missing or null |
Connect both outlets if every path should keep running. An unconnected outlet ends that branch.
Pipe schema
The next block reads this on the data pipe (pipe.value).
| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Result | boolean | true when the value is neither missing nor null |
Use case
- Continue only when an argument or lookup returned a value (empty string is still a value).
- After optional mapping, skip work when the field was never filled.
- Prefer Is Not Empty when blank text should be treated like “no value.”
