Array
Type
data-ops.arraybasic/data-opsAny
Value
Any
Array (canvas label Array · plus the operation) runs one list Operation and writes the result to the data pipe. Add/remove operations return a new list; they do not change the original variable unless you store the pipe again.
These operations need the Callback handle connected to a Lambda: Map, Filter, Reduce, Flat map, Find, Find index, Some, Every, Group by, Key by, Partition. The run fails if the callback is not connected.
Use For Of when each item needs a full nested graph with conditions and other blocks. Use this block for a single list transform.
Configure
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Operation | Grouped list. Changing it resets the other fields |
| Remaining fields | Depend on Operation (for example Array, Index, Item) |
Handles
| Handle | Role |
|---|---|
| In (target) | Incoming connection |
| Out (source) | Continues after the operation (main path) |
| Callback | Required for callback operations. New callback scope per item. Connect to Lambda |
Inside the callback body (after Lambda):
| Path | Meaning |
|---|---|
args.item | Current item |
args.index | Zero-based index |
args.acc | Reduce only — accumulator |
args.cur | Reduce only — alias for the current item |
End the body with a return. That returns from the callback, not from the whole workflow.
| Operation | Return from the callback |
|---|---|
| Filter, Some, Every, Find, Find index, Partition | true/false |
| Group by, Key by | text key |
| Map, Flat map, Reduce | Transformed or accumulated value |
Pipe schema
The next block on the main path reads this on the data pipe (pipe.value). The type depends on Operation: list, object, number, true/false, text, or any (item access and Reduce / Find).
Pop and Shift return the list without the removed item (not the removed value). Use Last or First if you need the item.
Operations
Core and access
| Operation | Result | Inputs |
|---|---|---|
| Create | list | Optional Items |
| From | list | Value — wrap a non-list as one item; missing becomes [] |
| Length / Count | number | Array |
| Is empty | true/false | Array |
| Get | any | Array, Index |
| At | any | Array, Index — negative indexes from the end |
| First / Last | any | Array |
Add and remove
| Operation | Result | Inputs |
|---|---|---|
| Push / Unshift | list | Array, Item |
| Pop / Shift | list | Array |
| Insert | list | Array, Index, Item |
| Remove | list | Array, Index |
Transform (callback)
| Operation | Result | Inputs |
|---|---|---|
| Map | list | Array |
| Filter | list | Array |
| Reduce | any | Array, Initial value |
| Flat map | list | Array |
Flat (no callback): Array, optional Depth (default 1).
Search
| Operation | Result | Inputs |
|---|---|---|
| Includes | true/false | Array, Value |
| Index of | number | Array, Value |
| Find | any | Array — first match via callback |
| Find index | number | Array |
| Some / Every | true/false | Array |
Combine, order, compare
| Operation | Result | Inputs |
|---|---|---|
| Concat | list | Arrays — list of lists |
| Slice | list | Array, Start, optional End |
| Splice | list | Array, Start, Delete count, optional Items |
| Chunk | list | Array, Chunk size |
| Sort | list | Array, optional Direction (asc|desc) |
| Reverse / Unique / Shuffle | list | Array |
| Equals | true/false | A, B — deep |
| Is subset | true/false | A, B — every item in A is in B |
Aggregate, convert, helpers
| Operation | Result | Inputs |
|---|---|---|
| Sum / Average / Min / Max | number | Array of numbers |
| Join | text | Array, optional Separator (default ,) |
| To object | object | Array of [key, value] pairs |
| Compact | list | Array — drops null and missing items |
| Group by / Key by | object | Array plus callback key |
| Partition | list | Array — [pass, fail] via callback |
| Zip | list | Arrays — combine by index |
| Unzip | list | Array — reverse a zipped list |
Use case
- Filter rows from Table Find where a callback condition is true.
- Map each id to a payload, then call an API once per item inside the callback, or Join ids for a query string.
- Chunk a long list before sending batches.
