Send WhatsApp Message
Send text, image, video, audio, document, or location via Twilio WhatsApp.
Type
twilio.whatsapp.send_messageListed only when a matching connected service is enabled.
Send WhatsApp Message sends a session message from a Twilio WhatsApp sender. Pick From among senders on that connection. To is the recipient phone number (E.164, without a whatsapp: prefix).
Use this inside the customer’s 24-hour reply window. For the first outbound message, use Send WhatsApp Template with an approved template.

Use case
- After WhatsApp Message Received, send a short text reply without a WhatsApp Chat session.
