Single Select stores one option from a list you define. Use Multi Select for several tags and Status when options are workflow stages (including transitions). Tables can Group by this column.

Name, key, unique, hidden, and permissions are the same for every column — see Tables.

Setting	Description
Options	Labels (must be unique). Optional icon, color, and hidden.
Default	Option used when a new row leaves the cell empty

Use case

Category, priority, region, or type — one tag per row, with color and icon in the grid.
Group by this column for a board-style view (not a pipeline — use Status for that).
Public forms that ask for a single choice (department, product line).
