Tables

Live workspace grids with shared column settings and role access.

Tables are structured datasets in your workspace. You manage rows in a live grid: cell edits, inserts, deletes, and schema changes from anyone with access show up for other open viewers without a refresh. Widgets that watch queries on the same table also refresh.

Open Data → Tables. Open a table for the grid. To collect rows from people who should not use the grid, use a form on that table.

Use tables as the source of truth for queries, agents, workflows, and widgets.

When to use

  • Store rows that tools, queries, and automations can read and write
  • Work together in one grid (changes are realtime)
  • Restrict a dataset by workspace role

Stay on the grid when your team is editing many rows, filtering, grouping, or filling columns. Use a form when outsiders or a simplified layout should write the same rows.

Create a table

Open Data → Tables and click Create Table (or Build with AI).

  1. Set Name (required), optional Description, and Icon.
  2. Save — Vettero opens the grid.

New tables start with default columns (Title, User, Status, Created At). Pin a table in Workspace Settings → Sidebar Items as a shortcut.

Configure the table

From the table header:

ControlWhat it does
Edit (pencil)Name, description, and icon
AccessPer-role View and Edit (edit requires view). Empty access means all members can use the table. Owners and Developers always can. Column access inherits this unless you override a field.
MembersRead-only list of people who currently have access from their roles
ViewShow hidden fields (session only), Group by (option or status columns), Pinned field (freeze one column on the left). Group by and pin are saved on the table.
FilterSession-only row filter; not stored on the table. Optional natural-language help to build the condition.
AddInsert a row
ColumnAdd a field (see below)
FormsOpen this table’s forms (Owners and Developers)
DeleteType the table name to confirm. The table becomes inaccessible; rows remain in storage.

Field types

See Fields for every column type. Shared settings below apply to all of them.

Configure a column

Click Column to add a field, or open a column menu to edit, hide / unhide, recalculate values (when the type supports it), or delete.

Every column has the same identity and access settings. Type-specific options sit under Config in the editor. See Fields for the full list (text, numbers, dates, files, formulas, and more). Types that need a connected service appear in the product only when a matching connection exists.

SettingWhat it does
NameLabel in the grid and on forms
TypeChosen on create; locked after save. See field types.
KeyStable id for queries, agents, and workflows. Auto-filled from the name until you edit it; locked after save. Must be unique and use letters, numbers, and underscores.
UniqueWhen the type allows it, values cannot repeat across rows
HiddenHidden from the default grid; Show hidden fields or Unhide reveals it
ConfigOptions for that type only (defaults, formulas, and similar)
Edit permissionsTighter View/Edit than the table. Inherited permissions cannot exceed table access.
On some types, changing Config does not rewrite existing cells until you Recalculate. AI columns may consume credits when you recalculate.

Limits

  • The grid is realtime for members who already have the table open; it is not a separate “realtime mode.”
  • Empty table Access grants all members; otherwise only listed roles (plus Owner/Developer) can use the table.
  • Group by is limited to option and status columns.
  • Filter and Show hidden fields are not saved as table config (except group by and pinned field).
  • Column Type and Key cannot change after create. Unique is only offered on types that support it.
